KUALA LUMPUR: Axiata Group Bhd has appointed Patrick Forth, a senior advisor with the Boston Consulting Group with extensive expertise in the digital disruption, AI-driven transformation and telco space, to its board of directors.
In a statement, the telco said Forth, who joined the board as an independent non-executive director, was formerly a member of the Boston Consulting Group’s global leadership team, leading its technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) practice.
“Patrick’s proven leadership in technology and customer-focused companies perfectly aligns with our strategic priorities.
“His deep industry expertise will further strengthen our board and reinforce our commitment to value creation, operational excellence, and future-proofing Axiata in an evolving digital landscape,” said Axiata chairman Tan Sri Shahril Ridza Ridzuan.
Group CEO and managing director Vivek Sood added that Forth’s deep understanding of technology, innovation and operations will be instrumental in the strategic shift towards converged connectivity and the Telco-to-TechCo transition.
“His understanding of business models using AI and disruptive technology, combined with his understanding of the telecoms industry will further strengthen our leadership in our footprint markets.”
